WESTFIELD ASSOCIATION

The Westfield Association is the fund raising arm of Westfield School. With great help and support from parents and members of staff the Association organises a great many social events throughout the year. Events have included the annual Camellia Ball, Bonfire Party and Fireworks Display, Christmas and Spring Fayres, Wine Tastings and Junior House discos.

The Association has in the past provided funds for the purchase of a school minibus, shelving and fittings for the Senior House library, computers for the Art Room and a new sound system for the hall which is well used by the performing arts and drama department. They are currently raising money for outdoor climbing equipment. New Committee members are always very welcome to join. Please contact the school office for more details.


INTERNATIONAL OUTLOOK

Westfield is an elected member of Round Square, a world-wide association of schools which share a commitment, beyond academic excellence, to personal development, responsibility and international understanding through service, challenge and adventure.

Senior students, teachers, heads and governors meet annually at an international conference hosted by a member school. In recent years we have attended conferences in India, Canada, Australia, Germany, Kenya, the USA as well as the UK. The conference provides a valuable exchange of ideas and an opportunity to make lasting friendships.

The are also opportunities for younger students to participate in junior and Young Round Square conferences aimed specifically at their own age groups and usually held in the UK or Europe.


EXCHANGES

Westfield students regularly go on exchange and visit other Round Square schools as far afield as Botswana, British Columbia, South Africa and Australia as well as the regular European exchanges.
